As a sign of respect, Australian players created a guard of honour for retiring England pacer Stuart Broad

On the fourth day of the fifth and final Ashes Test at The Oval on Sunday. Broad came to bat for the final time.

A thunderous burst of applause and a standing ovation from the audience greeted Broad as he descended the stairs and made his way to the pitch alongside James Anderson.

As England's innings came to an end for 395, Broad did not let his supporters down by hitting Mitchell Starc for a six over square leg, giving Australia 384 runs to win the game and the series.

On the third day of the match, the right-arm pacer shockingly announced his retirement at the conclusion of play.

Broad shown his talent in a variety of forms throughout the course of his illustrious career, collecting an impressive total of 845* wickets in all of those competitions.
