PM Modi hails football revolution in Madhya Pradesh village

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the football revolution in Bicharpur village in Madhya Pradesh

Bicharpur was once a hotbed of illicit liquor and narcotics, but it has since transformed itself into a footballing powerhouse

The village has produced more than 40 national and state-level players, and the Football Kranti programme

In his Mann Ki Baat address PM Modi said that football revolution in Bicharpur is a "living example" of how sports can help to change lives

He urged other villages and towns to follow Bicharpur's example and take up football.

The AIFF said that the Prime Minister's words will "inspire" young people across the country to take up the sport.
