As FC Barcelona clinched their 27th La Liga title and first since 2019, unbelievable scenes broke out moments after the Catalonians defeated derby Rivals Espanyol. Xavi’s side won La Liga in their 34th match and 4 games are yet to be played.
With their 4-2 win away at the RCDE Stadium, Barcelona claimed the League title for the first time under Xavi Hernandez and also depleted Espanyol’s chances of remaining in La Liga as their relegation is now certain. Both Barca and Espanyol are cross-town rivals and their game’s conclusion was very poetic but the gesture by Espanyol fans looked extremely dangerous.
While one club from Catalonia excelled and clinched Spain’s top-tier league, the other club from the region is under scrutiny of getting relegated. Espanyol fans were simply not having it as moments after the full-time whistle, the club’s Ultras broke the barriers and aggressively rushed towards the Barca players inside the pitch.
Within a few seconds, the pitch was filled with Espanyol fans as all the Barcelona players and management staff ran to the tunnel for safety.

But before the Espanyol fans broke in, Barcelona were seen celebrating in the middle of RCDE Stadium which actually agitated that particular set and as a result chaotic scenes were on display.
Spanish outlet Carousel Deportivo reported that dark hooded men were seen trying to enter the dressing room to find the Barca players and attack them with ‘Bars, Chains and Baton among other dangerous objects’.
“No matter where you look at it from, it is very sad that this is seen on the field. Regrettable and shameful.” – a polcie offer said. The gesture by Espanyol fans is being condemned at a World level and that too they did against a club like FC Barcelona which has a worldwide popularity.
