Watch : Australian Media and former Players’ throw Verbal jabs at Aussie players after an incompetent loss at Delhi

Australia’s defeat to India in the 2nd Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy has sent a massive shockwave to the world of cricket as the Rohit Sharma-led team pulled off yet another famous victory and kept their Delhi Fortress safe. This was for the second time in a row that the 5-day match ended in just 3 days and unfortunately for Australia, they were at wrong end.

The initial stages of Day 3 were not pretty much in favor of India as Australia were still leading by a run after the hosts got bowled out for 262. India had to produce a bowling master class to remain in contention to win the game and thanks to the spinning duo of two Ravi’s – Jadeja (7 wickets) and Ashwin (3), the Baggy Greens were folded for 113.

India were never going to have problems in chasing the target as Cheteshwar Pujara scored the winning shot to seal the game and double the BGT lead by 2-0. Another win (if Australia doesn’t wake Up) will take India to the ICC World Test championship final 2023 at Oval where they will square off against the same opponents but in a very different condition.

Now Australia’s main target will be to play for pride and equalize the BGT 2023 and if they do so, it will be harmful for India’s WTC final hopes. But before we find that out, the Australian Media and former cricket legends from the country were left fuming following the Delhi test.

One Australian outlet did not hold their emotions back and lashed out on the team’s attitude, decision making and will to fight. Former players like Allan Border and Matthew Hayden had very hard words for the Pat Cummins led team. Fox Cricket has also slammed the Aussies. ;

You have to trust your defense, every player who plays on the subcontinent. When you hack across the line, you have to give yourself some chance. He’s gone in with a premeditated plan to sweep ball one instead of understanding the defense has to be there. Build on it.” – said Mathew Hayden

“I’m disappointed, I’m shell shocked – angry about the way we went about our work today. It was panicky, frenetic batting. No one got in there and tried to stem the flow with some good defensive cricket. They were getting out playing sweep shots, reverse sweeps, playing shots to just about every ball. You just can’t get away with that on that sort of track.” – said an agitated Allan Border via Fox Cricket.
