VALORANT PATCH NOTES 5.12 ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

Valorant Invitational India

Riot Games has revealed the full patch notes for Valorant update 5.12, the last patch of the year, and it is a big one, with changes coming to almost every agent on the roster.

While most agents are being changed in some way, the biggest overarching changes involve damage to destructible objects. Now, pretty much any ability that does damage in an AoE, such as Brimstone’s Incendiary and Viper’s Snakebite, will damage enemy utility. In an attempt to not totally make some utility that gets one shotted totally useless, some items have had their HP rebalanced, so they can still be destroyed by one bullet, but will last a bit longer if they get clipped by fire.

Another non-agent change is a big nerf to the Spectre weapon. The SMG was a bit too powerful at long range, so a new damage range has been added for shots 30m or more away. Previously any shot further than 20m would do 22 damage, but now shots between 15-30m will do 22 damage, and anything further will do 20 damage.

When it comes to agents, one of the most notable set of changes comes to Chamber, with the initial details being released last week. This is the second major nerf to Chamber is as many months, but early signs suggest that this round should have more of an impact on his ability to dominate all areas of the game.

Sage has also been re balanced to make her more of a support style agent and less of a solo player. Her self healing has been reduced from 60HP to 30, but her ally healing has been bumped up to 100, meaning she can fully heal a teammate but will only heal a small amount herself. This should hopefully mean a Sage can no longer go off on their own and just tank through any damage.

Viper is the final agent with a big change in this patch, with the devs wanting to keep her inside her ultimate a bit more. The max amount of time she can be outside of her ultimate has been decreased from 15 seconds to just 8, meaning she has to play inside it or lose it.

Rounding out the Valorant patch are some damage multiplier tweaks and a few bug fixes. There’s also the launch of the brand new game mode, Swiftplay.
