Brilliant performance by the English batters
The English batters ensured that they go on to perform well so that they can put pressure on the Australian team. Both Zack Crawley and Bairstow ensured that they stayed there to perform well for the team. The whole batting line of England did very well.
- Zak Crawley played the innings of his life. If England goes on to win the Ashes, then his innings is certainly going to be considered as a big contribution. Crawley scored 189 runs, on only 182 balls. He got 21 fours and 3 sixes in this innings.
- Even though the opening partnership was only 9 runs. However, England had a strong motive to do well in this series. The 2nd wicket partnership between Crawley and Moeen was 121 runs.
- For the 3rd wicket, the best partnership of the Ashes series happened. That was between Crawley and root. They both had a partnership of 206 runs.
- Moeen, Root, Brook, Stokes, and Bairstow contributed brilliantly. Bairstow was unlucky to miss out on his century, as he was not out on 99.
- England excelled both in bowling and even batting. They really look committed to winning the Test match.
Winning the test match from here is going to be easy for England. But due to rain the start of the 5th day’s play has been affected. If the rain stays for a long time, then things might turn in favor of Australia.
