In a match which was considered as a potential title decider, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool thrashed Brendan Rodger’s Leicester City in their backyard by a scoreline of 4-0. Roberto Firmino scored twice for the Reds, James Milner and Trent Alexander Arnold found the back of the net once for Anfield based outfit.
After their clash against the Foxes, Liverpool have gone 13 points clear on the top of the Premier League table despite the fact that Manchester City are to play against Wolverhampton Wanderers in a late kickoff.
Liverpool started off the proceedings in a gullible manner bullying Leicester City defenders at King Power stadium. Liverpool relentlessly attacked the Leicester City and dented their hopes of reducing the lead to single digits. Liverpool’s first goal came just after the half an hour mark when Trent Alexander Arnold’s cross was met by Brazilain striker by Roberto Firmino who fired past the goalkeeper.
However, after conceding the goal, Leicester City closed themselves in the first half and didn’t allow Liverpool to create further inroads in the next 15 minutes.
In a mix, Caglar Soyuncu was awarded a card for the handball and Liverpool, a penalty. Milner converted the penalty in a cool manner before Firmino scored his the second goal of the night for the Reds.
