Indian batsman Karun Nair has been out of the national side for quite a long time now and he can put his name into the list of the unluckiest players as despite scoring a triple hundred, he got the opportunity to play only 6 Tests for India in the end.
Nair made his first-class debut back in 2013-14 season and the caught the eye with his performances right from the beginning as he scored three hundred in Ranji Trophy and also helped his side Karnataka to win the title.
When it seemed like Nair has cemented his place after the outstanding knock, things went exactly the opposite for the 28-year old batsman. He has managed to play only four more Tests for India after that knock and the last was in 2017 against Australia.
However, the Karnataka batsman continues to work hard and insisted that his only target is to perform well for his state.
“For me, it is about playing each game at a time and trying to contribute as much as I can to Karnataka and trying to win games for the team. I am looking forward to contributing more with the bat and as captain, so that we can go on and win games.”
“It is important to concentrate on what’s happening over here and whatever has to happen, I’ve no control over it. So my only focus is to doing well here and contributing for Karnataka,” he said.
