Lionel Messi is certainly one of the best players to have ever played the game of Football. He made Argentina win the FIFA World Cup last year. Fans are making sure that they read between the lines because they want their hero to come back, on the biggest stage in the world.

How did Lionel Messi drop the hint of his comeback?

Messi uploaded a couple of his photographs in the jersey of Argentina. The one that Diego Maradona wore in the 1994 FIFA World Cup. This has made the fans and experts think that he might be making a comeback in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. However, at the same time, some are believing that this can also be only a tribute to the legend Diego Maradona

What did Messi say after winning the FIFA World Cup 2022?

After winning the World Cup 2022, Messi clearly mentioned that he will not be appearing in future FIFA World Cup matches. He said, “It’s many years for the next one and I don’t think I’ll be able to do it. And to finish like this, it’s the best.” After this statement, it was clear that he will not be participating in any upcoming World Cup events.

Can Messi play in the World Cup in 2026?

Messi is arguably the best Footballer, and it is clear that his appearance is always going to be beneficial for Argentina. However, in the next World Cup, Messi is going to be 39 years old. Messi is going to have a chance to appear for the last time in his 6th World Cup. But chances are very low.

Retiring from the World Cup by making your country win the greatest tournament is certainly a dream for many players. Messi was successfully able to do that, and overshadowing that finish will not be the best thing.
