Who is Khalid Jamil? Why he is trending on social media? This question might pops in the mind and heart of all ardent Football fans let me tell who is Khalid Jamil who is all set to become crisis man for India by taking over the reins as next Football Head Coach for India.
Just in case you aren’t aware about What’s happening in Indian football, Manolo Marquez resigned from his job, there were Job description posted on All India Football Federation Social Media Handle regarding new job.
There were several people who applied for this job but three people including the likes of- Stephen Constantine, Stephan Tarkovic and Khalid Jamil were the actual front runners to become India’s Next Head Coach.
The management gave Khalid Jamil front runner credit considering his vast resume and understanding among Indian players.
He is now elected as Full time Indian Men’s Team Head Coach also former India legendary Striker IM Vijayan also suggested his name.
Before we dwell into the challenges he might face going forward and how he could solve actual crisis in Indian Football? Let’s talk about him in detail:
1. Khalid Jamil receive an opportunity to Play for India in 1997 SAFF( South Asian Football Federation Cup) against Bangladesh in the year 1997 however he couldn’t play longer for the country considering his injuries which shortened his career and he took retirement in the year 2006.
2. He didn’t give up worked on his coaching skills and made sure to reach at the top of the ladder.
3. He was later elevated as coach in I-league(India’s 2nd Most Popular League) after ISL where he has coached distinct franchise in more than 200 games.
4. He also held a record of coaching most matches in I-League.
5. Aizwal FC have managed to win I- League title in the year 2017 defeating Mohun Bagan Super Giants in the final.
6. He later joined North East United FC and before moving to Jamshdpur FC have taken them in the semifinal too.
7. He is also ACC licensed coach and would be keenly looking to impart his skills in Indian team going forward.
8. His next big challenge would be CAFA Nations Cup and Asian Cup Qualifiers which will start form August 29th to November 18th respectively.

A- CAFA Nations Cup
August 29th- Tajikistan vs India
September 1st- India vs Iran
September 4th- Afghanistan vs India
B- AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers
October 9th: India vs Singapore
October 14th: India vs Singapore
November 18th: India vs Bangladesh.
Problems and Solutions and how he could become crisis man for India?
- The problems have been inability to produce quality players as backup
2. The other problem have been lack of attacking instinct which is costing India game on consistent basis.
3. Inability to play attacking Fooball instinct which is the biggest requirement in current time period.
4. The grassroot talent are not coming up the ranks.
Solutions would be:
1. Khalid Jamil need to ensure that India’s Formation is taken care properly.
2. Khalid Jamil needs to make sure entire team plays attacking instinct of football and make name for themselves.
3. India needs to make sure Overseas Citizens of India and Person of India origin, are allowed to play in the National team so that Quality of Football could be uplifted.
It would too much on him but considering his vast resume he is the only hope left in Indian team to uplift the standard of Indian football.
Khalid Jamil is known for his relentless approach as player it would be ideally interesting to see whether he can employ the same strategy going forward.
There are several hiccups in Current Indian team to beat them you need to play attacking football so that they can defeat some of best teams in the world but for that they need to make sure systematic planning could be done and Blue Tigers could emerge the winner of this contest.

“His biggest quality as player is his understanding as coach to not overburden players for e.g when I played under him at Mumbai City FC, he gave me complete freedom to attack, he didn’t ask me to defend. That’s His genius” said Steven Dias played under his coaching.
