World’s top-ranked shuttler from Malaysia Kento Momota, face two big events in a short span of time which has left him in a state of shock. Momota shortly after claiming the Malaysia Masters title after beating Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen met with an accident near Kuala Lumpur.
However, This has been confirmed by the police and the local fire department in their statement. As per senior fire and rescue department official Norazam Khamis, the injured came out of the van by themselves with only minor injuries. However, the driver of the van was not that lucky as he died on the spot.
The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) have said about Momota that “Kento Momota suffered injuries on several parts of the body while fracturing his nose”. While Malaysian Minister of Youth and Sports Syed Saddiq who after visiting the injured in the hospital said that the condition of all four people was stable. He added that all the injured would be receiving the best treatment and will be monitored closely.
