Cricket fever has gripped a new segment of India with the ongoing Indian Street Premier League (ISPL). This innovative T10 tennis ball cricket tournament, launched on March 6th, 2024, features six teams owned by some of Bollywood’s biggest stars.

Adding a dash of glamour to the tournament are the high-profile team owners. Amitabh Bachchan owns Majhi Mumbai. Akshay Kumar owns Srinagar Ke Veer, while Hrithik Roshan, Suriya, Ram Charan, and the power couple Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan owns Bangalore Strikers, Chennai Singhams, Falcon Risers Hyderabad, and Tiigers of Kolkata respectively.

Six Teams Vying for the First Title
The inaugural ISPL season features six teams battling it out for the coveted first championship title. After a round-robin stage, the top four teams will advance to the semi-finals, culminating in a thrilling final match on March 15th, 2024. All matches are being held at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium in Thane, Maharashtra.
Talented Players Emerge from Mega Auction
Unveiling a pool of hidden talent, the ISPL conducted its first-ever player auction on February 25th. A total of 96 players were selected from a group of 350 aspirants, with a whopping INR 4.91 crore spent to assemble these talented squads.
The tournament has already witnessed some nail-biting encounters, keeping fans glued to their screens. Majhi Mumbai currently leads the points table with three wins and a positive net run rate. Following closely are the Tiigers of Kolkata, Chennai Singhams, and Falcon Risers Hyderabad, all vying for a spot in the top four. Bangalore Strikers is still looking for their first wins but promise exciting matches ahead.
