IPL 2024: All 10 Franchises earned double amount what they earned in last Fiscal Year

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is gearing up for its next edition, which is set to commence next year. A key event on the horizon is the player auction, scheduled to take place in December 2024. This auction is a crucial moment for teams as they bid to strengthen their rosters for the upcoming season.

Recent reports highlight a significant financial upswing for the IPL franchises. According to the latest data from various media sources, the revenue generated by all ten IPL teams has more than doubled from the previous fiscal year. Specifically, in the fiscal year 2022 (FY 2022), the combined earnings of the ten franchises totaled ₹2,205 crores. In a remarkable turnaround, this figure soared to ₹4,670 crores in FY 2023, demonstrating the league’s impressive growth trajectory.

Diving deeper into the financial performance of individual teams, the Mumbai Indians, one of the most prominent franchises, reported substantial revenue growth. Their earnings increased to ₹737 crores in FY 2023, a significant jump from ₹358 crores in the previous fiscal year. This nearly doubling of revenue underscores the franchise’s expanding commercial appeal and successful marketing strategies.

Similarly, the Chennai Super Kings, another leading team, saw their revenue rise to ₹676 crores, up from ₹292 crores in the preceding year. This substantial increase reflects the franchise’s continued strong performance and its ability to attract and retain a loyal fan base.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) also experienced notable financial growth, with their revenue climbing to ₹650 crores from ₹247 crores in the last fiscal year. This surge highlights RCB’s enhanced market presence and growing popularity among cricket enthusiasts.

The overall revenue growth across all franchises signals a positive and robust trend for the IPL. The league’s expanding financial health not only reinforces its status as one of the premier cricketing events globally but also underscores the increasing value and commercial potential of the IPL. As the league continues to thrive, the upcoming auction in December 2024 is anticipated to be a high-stakes and highly competitive event, setting the stage for another exciting season of cricketing action.
