Harry Brook is also the European Ambassador of Major League Baseball (MLB) alongside Issy Wong
Young English International Harry Brook finally showed his true colors and dazzled under the lights of Eden Gardens last night against Kolkata Knight Riders. After a string of poor outings in the previous 3 matches, Brook shrugged off all the doubts in style and smacked the first Century of IPL 16.
But before he scored the century to contribute for his side’s win, Brook had only scored 29 runs in 3 matches. Coach Brian Lara must have activated the player and has promoted him to open for SRH. His first game as an opener ended in 13 and his second was 100 off 55 balls.

For a fact, the Englishman was under immense pressure and the SRH management was being questioned for splashing INR 13.25 Crores during the Mini Auction last year. He was also the 3rd English International to bag deals worth more than 10 Crores and Brook eased the pressure on him for a bit last night.
The 24-year-old smacked started his innings with a lot of intent to go big by hitting a 4 in the first ball. In total he scored Twelve 4’s and Three 6’s while batting at a strike rate of 181. 82. This turnaround will definitely find its place in extra-ordinary stories of IPL.
And a lot of it could be because of Harry Brook’s sheer dedication, will power and Baseball! The Englishman before the IPL began was on the news for attending practice sessions with Baseball teams in the USA to use some of the components in Cricket.
He expressed his excitement to score home runs in Baseball just like sixers in Cricket.“I’m really excited for this partnership and can’t wait to try my hand at hitting some home run. I’m intrigued to see how different it is to cricket and what similarities there are too – will a home run feel as good as hitting a six?”
