Brydon Carse’s Injury Woes
Brydon Carse, who was bought by SRH for his base price of Rs 1 crore at the IPL 2025 auction, suffered a toe injury during the ICC Champions Trophy match against Australia on February 22nd. The injury was serious enough to rule him out of the tournament, and now it seems he won’t be able to play until the end of May, forcing him to miss the entire IPL season.
Wiaan Mulder Steps In
SRH has moved quickly to find a replacement, signing Wiaan Mulder for Rs 75 lakh. Mulder has been in good form recently, even playing in the Champions Trophy semi-final for South Africa. With South Africa’s campaign now over, he is expected to join SRH soon. This is good news for SRH, as Mulder’s all-round abilities will be valuable for the team.
SRH’s Injury Concerns
Unfortunately, Carse’s injury isn’t the only one SRH is dealing with. Their captain, Pat Cummins, has been sidelined since early January with an injury and also missed the ICC Champions Trophy. However, there is some positive news: Cummins has said he expects to be fit for the IPL 2025 season. Meanwhile, another SRH player, Nitish Kumar Reddy, was injured in January, and there hasn’t been an update on his fitness from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
