Rohit Sharma after win in IND vs BAN 1st Test

Captain Rohit Sharma said in the post-match presentation that it was a big win for us. Rishabh Pant has faced a very difficult time and the way he dared in that situation and handled everything was truly fantastic. He likes this format very much. We always knew how capable he was and just wanted a chance to play.

Rohit further said that we always want our team to have a good choice of both fast bowling and spin. This pitch was easy for batsmen, but both fast and spin bowlers got help from the pitch. It was necessary to show restraint here. Ashwin is always there and guides you in the right direction.

Praising Ashwin, ‘Hitman’ said that red clay always gives a lot on this beautiful pitch. You have to show patience. Something happens on every ball in India, but it is not that we cannot make big runs and take wickets. Ashwin will come and talk, he is the right person who can tell everything what he does. He is always there to help us. I do not know what to say here. Whatever I say for him will be less, but he is an important player in the team. He always seems active in sports. He played IPL, enjoyed TNPL and came up in batting, which helped.

Notably, R Ashwin took a 5-fer in the second inning of the match. This was the 37th Five-fers in his career, which equals to the number of Australian great Shane Warne. Only legendary Muttiah Muralitharan is ahead of him with 67 Five-fers.
