The draw leaves Tottenham Hotspurs in the sixth place with 30 points in 20 games just behind Manchester United who defeated Burnley in the late-night kick-off at Turf Moor. On the other hand, Norwich City moved to the 13th position which is six points above from the relegation zone.
The Carrow Road-based outfit went ahead of Spurs in the 18th minute when Vrancic scored from the edge of the area after Juan Foyth was dispossessed by Emiliano Brenda. Norwich felt that they have doubled the lead when Teemu Pukki scored in the 33rd minute. However, the goal was ruled out as the VAR ruled the Finland international was fractionally offside. The incident irritated the home fans and they started chanting “It’s not football anymore”.
However, the equalizer was canceled out and gifted a goal by Tottenham Hotspurs themself. The Ivorian full-back, Serge Aurier diverted the ball past Paulo Gazzaniga after Toby Alderweirald tried to stop the onrushing Teemu Pukki. However, Tottenham Hotspurs consider themselves lucky as Christopher Zimmerman brought down Harry Kane in the penalty area in the 83rd minute which allowed Harry Kane to score his 136th goal for Tottenham.
