Champions Trophy Final: India vs New Zealand Tickets Sold Out in Dubai

The excitement is building for the Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand. The match, scheduled for Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium, has seen a huge demand for tickets. In fact, all 25,000 tickets have been sold out.

High Demand, High Prices

Tickets for the final ranged in price from AED 250 for general admission to AED 12,000 for the exclusive Sky Box hospitality. The total ticket sales are estimated to be around AED 9 million. This shows just how much people want to see this big match.

A Rematch with History

India and New Zealand will battle it out on March 9th. This final is a rematch of the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy final, which New Zealand won. India will be looking to get revenge for that loss, as well as their losses to New Zealand in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup semi-final and the 2021 ICC World Test Championship final.

India’s Home Advantage?

India played all their matches in Dubai because they did not travel to Pakistan due to security concerns. This is different from other teams who had to travel between Pakistan and Dubai during the tournament. This situation has caused some debate. Some former cricketers, like Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton, have said that India has an advantage. They have less travel time, play at one venue where they know the conditions well, and they picked their team with Dubai in mind.

New Zealand’s Road to the Final

New Zealand did not finish at the top of Group A, but they have gained valuable experience. They will use what they learned to bounce back in the final. They will think about how the pitch played compared to the pitches in Pakistan and which tactics worked.

Previous Meeting in the Tournament

India and New Zealand played each other earlier in the tournament. India won that match by 44 runs. India scored 249 runs in their 50 overs, and then they bowled out New Zealand for 205 runs in the 46th over.

In that match, Shreyas Iyer scored 79 runs for India. Matt Henry took 5 wickets for New Zealand. Kane Williamson scored 81 runs for New Zealand, but he did not get much support from the other batsmen. India’s spinners did well, taking nine wickets. Varun Chakaravarthy, India’s leg-spinner, took 5 wickets.

With sold-out tickets and a history of close matches, fans are eagerly waiting to see who will lift the Champions Trophy. Both teams have shown their strengths during the tournament. India will try to use their perceived home advantage, and New Zealand will look to overcome the odds and repeat their 2000 victory.
