WI vs IND: Yashasvi Jaiswal earns multiple milestones on Test debut!
In his first Test match, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a brilliant hundred on the second day against West Indies.
– He became the 17th Indian player to achieve the feat of a century on Test debut with his knock.
– Shreyas Iyer was the previous Indian player to score a debut Test hundred in 2021 against New Zealand.
– He also became the 7th Indian batter and the first one since 2010 to score a debut Test hundred on foreign soil with his century.
– In 2010, Suresh Raina hit a Test hundred on his debut outside India against Sri Lanka, the last Indian batter to do so before Jaiswal.
– He also emulated Dhawan and Shaw as the 3rd India opener to score a century on his Test debut.
– Rohit and Jaiswal put on 229 runs for the opening wicket, the second-best for India in Tests in West Indies.
