Tamim Iqbal, the Bangladesh ODI captain, has stepped down from the role
and withdrawn from the upcoming Asia Cup.
The 34-year-old batsman cited an injury problem as the reason for his decision.
Tamim has been struggling with a knee injury for the past few months
and he has not been able to play in any competitive cricket since March.
He was initially ruled out of the Asia Cup, but he had been hoping to make a comeback for the tournament.
However, Tamim has now decided that he is not fit enough to play in the Asia Cup.
He has also stepped down as ODI captain, and he will be replaced by Mahmudullah Riyad.
