Tajinderpal Singh Toor shatters Asian record in shotput

Indian shotputter Tajinderpal Singh Toor shattered the Asian record with a throw of 23.10 meters

happened at the National Inter-State Championships in Patiala on Saturday.

He is a two-time Asian Games champion

and has also won medals at the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games and the Commonwealth Games.

Toor was born in Khosa Pando, Punjab, India in 1994

He started his athletic career as a discus thrower

but switched to shot put in 2012. He quickly made a name for himself as one of the most promising shot putters in India.
