SAI urges Bajrang Punia to either Attend World Championships trials or provide fitness certificate

Bajrang Punia plans to skip World Championships trials in favor of training abroad for the Asian Games starting on September 23.

Bajrang and Deepak Punia have shown reluctance to participate in World Championships in Belgrade

They have opted for extended training for the Asian Games.

SAI has requested both wrestlers to take part in the Worlds trials to verify their fitness before considering their overseas training requests.

Earlier, Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat, and Sakshi Malik had sought foreign training stints after protesting at Jantar Mantar for an extended period.
