Sadio Mane confirms ex-Liverpool teammates tried to convince him to reject move to Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr

Sadio Mane has confirmed that his former Liverpool teammates Roberto Firmino and Fabinho tried to convince him to join their clubs instead of Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.

Mane eventually joined Al-Nassr in a €40 million move from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2023.

Mane said that Firmino and Fabinho tried to convince him to join their clubs "more than once"

but he preferred to play for Al-Nassr.

He also said that Jordan Henderson, who has also joined the Saudi League, sent him a message to wish him good luck.

Mane's move to Al-Nassr has been met with mixed reactions.

Some fans have criticized him for leaving a club like Liverpool to join a less prestigious league. However, others have praised him for taking a new challenge and for the financial security that the move will provide for him and his family.
