Prithvi Shaw's County stint cut short by knee injury

Indian opener Prithvi Shaw has been forced to cut short his stint with Northamptonshire due to a knee injury.

Shaw, playing in the County Championship for Northamptonshire, suffered  injury during the team's match against Leicestershire 

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital for scans, revealed that he suffered a grade 2 medial ligament tear in his right knee.

Shaw is now expected to be out of action for at least four weeks, which will rule him out of the rest of the County Championship season.

Shaw's injury is a major blow for Northamptonshire, who were hoping that he would be a key player for them in their promotion push

Shaw's injury is also a setback for India, who were hoping that he would be a key player in their upcoming tour of England

The opener had been in good form in recent months, scoring centuries in both the ODI and Test series against South Africa.
