Neeraj Chopra, the Olympic gold medalist in javelin throw, has withdrawn from the prestigious Paavo Nurmi Games

these games are set to be held in Turku, Finland

Niraj withdrew due to a muscle strain sustained last month.

The 24-year-old Indian had been scheduled to compete in the Paavo Nurmi Games on June 14.

However, he has been advised by his doctors to rest and avoid competition for a few weeks.

Chopra is expected to be back in action at the Stockholm Diamond League on June 30.
