Meet Eden Carson, the Kiwi Women's Bowler who bowled 11 overs in ODI
Eden Carson bowled 11 overs in the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Galle on July 1, 2023.
Despite the fact that each bowler is only allowed to bowl 10 overs per innings in an ODI match.
The blunder occurred due to an error by the umpires, who failed to notice that Carson had already bowled her 10th over.
Carson was allowed to continue bowling, and she finished with figures of 11-0-39-0.
The Sri Lankan team did not protest the error, and eventually won the match by 6 wickets.
This is not the first time that a bowler has bowled more than 10 overs in an ODI match
But in Carson's case, the error was simply due to the umpires not paying attention.
