Jimmy Connors clarifies comments on Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal

Former tennis great Jimmy Connors has clarified his comments about Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, 

Connors had previously said that Novak Djokovic was "new guy on top of the heap" in tennis, and he had won the most Grand Slams.

This led to people interpreting Connors' comments as against Federer and Nadal, who have also won multiple Grand Slams.

However, Connors has now said that he was not trying to diminish Federer and Nadal's achievements.

He said that he simply meant that Djokovic was the current number one player in the world

"I never said that Federer and Nadal aren't the great players that they are," Connors said. "just said there's a new guy on the top of the heap"

Connors also said that he respects Federer and Nadal, and he enjoys watching them play. He said that they are both "great champions"
