FIFA Bans Al Nassr From Registering New Players
Al Nassr, the Saudi Arabian club that Cristiano Ronaldo plays for, has been banned from registering new players by FIFA.
The ban is due to Al Nassr's failure to pay a debt to Leicester City for transfer of Ahmed Musa in 2018.
In October 2021, FIFA ruled that Al Nassr owed Leicester City €460,000 ($513,000) plus interest for performance-related add-ons.
Al Nassr was given until February 2023 to pay the debt, but they have failed to do so.
As a result, FIFA has banned Al Nassr from registering new players until the debt is paid in full
This means that the club will be unable to sign any new players in summer transfer window, or in the winter transfer window of 2023/24.
The ban is a major blow to Al Nassr, who are hoping to challenge for the Saudi Pro League title this season.
It is not yet clear when Al Nassr will be able to register new players again.
