Delay in BCCI announcing India Test squad not because of Virat Kohli but due to Bumrah, Rahul, and Jadeja: Report
The selectors and team management are well aware of Kohli. The delay, if there is one, might be due to Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, or Ravindra Jadeja.
The team management considered resting Bumrah for the third Test, but considering what happened in the previous two matches, that appears to have changed. The selectors now want Bumrah to play in Rajkot.
Virat is unlikely to make a comeback in the upcoming matches, so In his absence, both Rahul and Jadeja become more important in an inexperienced middle order.
Rahul suffered a quadriceps injury and was unable to participate in the second test. Officials are waiting for his fitness report.
Jadeja was ruled out due to a hamstring injury. He is spending time at the NCA, but the final reports are awaited.
Mohammed Siraj is anticipated to return to the XI after being rested for the second Test.
Due to these reasons, selectors are taking time and confirming player availability to announce the squad. Also, there is no hurry because the third Test is still close to a week away.
