Ben Stokes is an injury doubt for England's Cricket World Cup

Ben Stokes is an injury doubt for England's Cricket World Cup opener against New Zealand on Thursday, says captain Jos Buttler.

Stokes suffered a sore hip during England's warm-up match against Sri Lanka on Monday

And he missed their final warm-up match against Australia on Wednesday.

Buttler said that Stokes is being assessed by the medical team

And a decision on his fitness will be made on the day of the match.

"Ben is a doubt for the game," Buttler said.

"He had a bit of a sore hip after the Sri Lanka game, and we're just assessing him at the moment. We'll see how he goes tomorrow morning, and make a decision then."
