Alcaraz scripts ATP history, wins Canadian Open title

Carlos Alcaraz made history at the 2023 Canadian Open by becoming the youngest player to win 30 matches in a season on the ATP Tour

The 19-year-old Spaniard defeated American Frances Tiafoe in the semifinals to reach his first ATP Masters 1000 final

After that he then beat defending champion Rafael Nadal in the final to win the title.

Alcaraz's victory was his 11th straight win, and it moved him to number 6 in the world rankings.

He is now the youngest player to be ranked in the top 10 since Rafael Nadal in 2005.

Alcaraz's win in Canada is another sign of his rapid rise to the top of the tennis world and  has already won two ATP Tour titles this year

Alcaraz's win is also a major boost for Spanish tennis and He is the first Spanish player to win the Canadian Open since Nadal in 2013.
