Suboth Bhati took a brilliant 4-wicket haul, but it was not enough as the Dindigul Dragons (DD) fell to a 30-run defeat to the Lyca Kovai Kings (LKK) in the Qualifier 1 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) on Friday.

Bhati was the pick of the bowlers for the Dragons, taking 4 wickets for 37 runs in his 4 overs. He was well supported by Varun Chakaravarthy, who took 1 wicket for 33 runs.
However, the Dragons’ batting failed to fire, as they were restricted to 163 in all 20 overs. Sarath Kumar top-scored for the Dragons with 62 runs, but he received little support from the other batsmen.
Directed to bat first, Kings put on a mammoth 193 on board for 7 in 20 overs with the help of a brilliant knock by B Sachin. Sachin scored 70 off 46 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes.
The win for the Kings means that they have qualified for the final of the TNPL. With the win over DD, LKK has secured their place in the final of the TNPL 2023.
