Fans witnessed the dreadful storm in a play-off match between DD and LKK as Dindigul Dragons’ Sarath Kumar smashed 8 sixes in his knock of 62 runs, but it was not enough as the team fell short by 30 runs against Lyca Kovai Kings in the Qualifier 1 of the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) on Friday.

After being given the huge target of 193 runs by Lyca Kovai Kings, the Dragons got off to a poor start, losing their first three wickets for 43 runs. However, Sarath Kumar came to the rescue, hitting sixes all over the park. He scored 62 off just 26 balls, including 8 sixes and 1 four.
However, the rest of the batsmen failed to contribute much, and the Dragons fell short of 30 runs and lost the match.
The LKK batted first as per directed by the DD after winning the toss. The match shifted to a brilliant knock by B Sachin. Sachin scored 70 off 46 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes.
The win for the Kings means that they have qualified for the final of the TNPL. Now they will fight for the title in the final which is scheduled to take place on July 12.
