Having one of the strongest fan base in the world of franchise cricket, Mumbai Indians are always favorites to win the IPL. With players like Rohit Sharma, the Pandya brother, Bumrah and the veteran Kieron Pollard, you can never take them out of the game. Mumbai Indians, did not have the perfect start in the 2020 season, but still managed to come out as winners. This shows both the mental and physical resilience they possess. As with every year, Mumbai Indians would again be the favorites to win the 2021 season. Mumbai Indians would love and expect to have their amazing fan base back at their den, the Wankhade Stadium and lift the trophies again, but this time, in front of them.
As 2021 season is the last season before the mega auctions in 2022, Mumbai Indians have retained most of their squad but have also parted ways with some of their crucial players such as Lasith Malinga, who recently retired from all forms of cricket, James Pattinson, the Aussie quick bowler who also played a vital role in their last year’s victory and Mitchell McCleneghan.
