GT20 Canada: Chris Lynn Stars for Montreal Tigers in Eliminator against Brampton Wolves

Chris Lynn

Chris Lynn smashed an unbeaten 63 off 47 balls as Montreal Tigers cruised to a comfortable nine-wicket win over Brampton Wolves in the Eliminator of the GT20 Canada 2023 on Friday. The league witnessed Lynn’s storm as he hunted Wolves’ bowlers to lead his 63-run inning.

Chris Lynn was in his element from the start, hitting boundaries at will. He was particularly severe on the spinners, hitting them for long sixes. He also picked up a couple of fours off the pacers. Lynn’s knock helped Montreal Tigers chase down the target of 105 with ease in just 14.2 overs.

They lost just one wicket in the process. Muhammad Waseem (23) provided good support to Lynn, scoring 23 off 24 balls. For Brampton Wolves, Shahid Ahmadzai was the pick of the bowlers, taking 1 for 26 in his four overs.

With this win, Montreal Tigers have advanced to the Qualifier 2 of the GT20 Canada 2023. They will face the loser of Eliminator 1. The winner of the Qualifier 2 will face the winner of Eliminator 1 in the final on Sunday, August 6.

Chris Lynn knock a sign of things to come?

Chris Lynn’s knock in the Eliminator was a reminder of his destructive batting prowess. The Australian opener is one of the most feared batsmen in T20 cricket and he showed on Friday that he is still very much in form.
Lynn’s knock will be a big boost for Montreal Tigers ahead of the Qualifier 2.

If he can replicate his form in that match, they will be very difficult to beat. The Tigers have a good team on paper and they will be confident of going all the way in the tournament. They have a strong batting line-up, led by Lynn, and they also have a good bowling attack. If they can play to their potential, they will be a tough team to beat in the Qualifier 2 and the final.
