The first stage of Global T20 Canada 2023 is over. Qualifier 2 happened between Vancouver Knights and Montreal Tigers. It was a neck-to-neck contest, but in the end, Vancouver Knights won the match by 1 wicket. Vancouver Knights ensured that they performed well in the first innings, but Montreal Tigers had a good batting lineup to chase the target. But this was certainly one of the best Qualifiers a tournament can come across.

Vancouver Knights innings
- Vancouver Knights batted in the first innings. They got a fine start of 33 runs. Aravind was able to contribute only 7 runs on 16 balls, before getting out.
- However, Rizwan continued to bat. He showed good form, as he scored 39 runs on 33 balls. Corbin Bosch on the other hand scored 36 runs on 28 balls. He scored sixes in his innings to put pressure on the bowlers.
- Captain van der Dussen got out on the first ball, and Najibullah also followed the legacy of his captain by getting out on a first ball Duck. Harsh Thaker scored 26 of 21 balls to add a few more runs in the total.
- At the end of the innings, Vancouver Knights were able to put 137- 6 on the board.
Montreal Tigers innings
- The Montreal Tigers had a decent total in front of them. The target they had to achieve was 138 runs.
- The tigers didn’t get a good start as they got the opening stand of 13 runs only.
- The first four batters were not able to score well. However, Shefane Rutherford took the responsibility of getting the runs for the team. He scored 48 and stayed not out till the end.
- The match got so tight that it went to the end, and Montreal Tigers just managed to win by 1 wicket.
Now the final is going to be played between Surrey Jaguars and Montreal Tigers. This is certainly going to be a brilliant contest, because these are the best team of the tournament, and they both are desperate to win the cup.
