Dayle Robert Hadlee is one of the most prominent cricketing stars of the world. This New Zealand cricketing sensation is the son of a popular cricket player from New Zealand and the test match captain Walter Hadlee. Dayle is the elder brother of cricketing sensation Sir Richard Hadlee. Dayle along with his two brothers played first-class cricket for his country. This sportsperson is a wonderful bowler and an efficient batsman in the lower order. He was born on January 6, 1948, in Riccarton, Christchurch, and Canterbury, New Zealand. He is a right arm medium fast bowler who used to bat with the right arm. One of the most celebrated first-class test cricketers of all time.

Only after three first-class matches from his international career, this particular player got selected for a tour to England, India, and Pakistan in 1969. In this tour, he proved his worth and played two tests in England. In his debut tour, he took six wickets in just two test matches. He played all six test matches in India and Pakistan. He got severely injured and had to stay back at home for a couple of years. In the 1971-72 season, he returned to the field. In 1973 he again toured to England and this time with his younger brother Sir Richard. Both of them took 38 wickets during the tour.

He toured Australia and played three test matches. In the next summer when Australia toured New Zealand, then also he played all three test matches. From these six test matches, he took 16 wickets. He played the 1975 world cup and took seven most important wickets. His best figure is 7 for 55 when he was playing for Canterbury and against Wellington. His scored his only century against Sri Lankan team that was visiting Canterbury. After retiring from first-class cricket, he started coaching young cricketers.
